You are a mentor!

Yes, yet another post about the Tour de France -and yes, I do know it’s over.
But some moments deserve a second look because they show us what real leadership is.
So let’s go back to Stage Two.
Isaac del Toro was the new kid -first Tour, first real test, already fighting back from a broken bicycle that should’ve taken him out of contention. But Tadej Pogačar (tour winner and teammate) saw a different story.  Instead of chasing his own glory, Tadej made a choice that only true leaders make.
He slowed down. He protected Isaac and paced him all the way back into the race.
And at the line, he let Del Toro take the win.
That’s mentorship in motion.
That’s seeing someone else’s special gifts.
A leader who didn’t need the spotlight to shine.
You know, Pogačar didn’t lose anything by giving Del Toro that moment - he built something.
Trust. Confidence. Momentum.
His legacy won’t just be measured in trophies, but by the success of the people he believed in.
Stage Two wasn’t just a victory.
It was a leader choosing to make space for someone else’s potential.
It makes me think about the mentors who did that for me - the ones who saw something in me before I saw it myself.
What about you? Who lifted you up when you needed it most?
Send them a quick message. Make their day.
Because legacy isn’t what we keep.
It’s who we raise.
